Men’s Soccer Hires Abby Han as Director of Operations & Player Care

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State men's soccer head coach Jeff Cook announced the hiring of Abby Han as the program's director of operations and player care Friday.

Han joins the men's soccer program after three seasons with the Nittany Lions football program, where she served as a player development intern.

"We are so pleased to welcome Abby to our men's soccer staff," said Cook. "After an extensive and thorough search process, Abby emerged as the perfect fit for our director of operations position. As a Penn Stater, she has an incredible passion for Nittany Lion athletics and will be an outstanding addition to our program. We were greatly impressed with Abby's energy, intelligence and determination to help move our program forward. I am excited to see the impact she will make as she begins her tenure with us!"

Han's primary responsibilities will include overseeing the team's logistical and organizational needs off the pitch, including travel, recruiting, budgeting and team events. She will also serve as the program's liaison to its support staff and vital student-athlete resources.

"I am so grateful to Coach Cook for the opportunity to become a part of his team," said Han. "Everyone has been extremely welcoming. I have no doubts I am where I belong. I am so excited for what's to come!"

In addition to her experience with Penn State football, Han also worked as an applied health and performance science assistant for all 31 varsity sports teams at Penn State.

Han graduated from Penn State in 2023 where she earned her Bachelor of Science in general science with a statistics concentration and mathematics minor. Han recently graduated from the Smeal College of Business this past May, earning her Master of Business Administration.
