Penn State Alumni Team Happy Valley Hoopers to Compete in 2024 TBT

PITTSBURGH -- Penn State will be represented in this summer's The Basketball Tournament (TBT), the $1 million, winner-take-all summer basketball event broadcast live on FOX networks.
 
Organized by Nittany Lion alum John Harrar, the Happy Valley Hoopers are a second-year alumni team that will take their shot at the $1 million prize. The current roster includes Penn State alum Qudus Wahab (2023-24), Harrar (2017-22), Sam Sessoms (2020-22), Jamari Wheeler (2017-21), Taylor Nussbaum (2017-21), Trent Buttrick (2017-21), Izaiah Brockington (2018-21) and Josh Reaves (2015-19). Former Nittany Lion assistant coach Ross Condon will serve as the head coach of the Happy Valley Hoopers, while Nittany Lion alum Myles Dread (2018-23) will be the team's assistant coach.

The Happy Valley Hoopers will play in the Pittsburgh Regional, with games taking place at the Petersen Events Center. Happy Valley Hoopers will open TBT action against DuBois Dream on Saturday, July 20, at 1 p.m. The winner will face the winner of Stars of Storrs (UConn alumni) and Herkimer Originals on Monday, July 22 at 6 p.m. The Pittsburgh Regional championship game is set for Wednesday, July 24 at 7 p.m.
 
The winner of the Pittsburgh Regional will move on to play the winner of the Butler Regional in the quarterfinals on July 29 or 30, with official game date, time and location to be determined. The semifinals and $1 million winner-take-all championship game will be Aug. 2 and Aug. 4 in Philadelphia, Pa. at the Daskalakis Athletic Center.
