UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Former Penn State women’s rugby member Kayla Canett is set to compete with USA Rugby Eagles Sevens at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Canett will make her second appearance in the Olympic games after playing with the USA Rugby Sevens squad in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
After debuting with the USA National Team in 2017, in both fifteens and sevens, she has competed in two Rugby World Cups (Ireland 2017, XVs; Cape Town 2022, 7s).
She has earned 29 caps with the 7s and 10 with the XVs as a flyhalf.
Canett helped Penn State to a national championship in 2017.
The USA Rugby Eagles Sevens are set for the group stage in Paris, where they will face Japan (7/28; 10:30 a.m.), Brazil (7/28; 2 p.m.) and France (7/29; 9:30 a.m.).
