Women’s Lacrosse Recognized for Academic Excellence

Penn State women’s lacrosse saw academic success throughout the 2023-24 academic year.

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State women’s lacrosse saw academic success throughout the 2023-24 academic year.

The team achieved a 3.61 cumulative GPA and a 3.60 GPA in the spring. Six student-athletes earned perfect 4.0 GPAs in the spring. Those Nittany Lions include Kate Dougherty, Ellie Hollin, Regan Nealon, Kristin O’Neill, Lilly Spilker and Rachel Spilker. The team also wrapped up the semester with 30 student-athletes on the Dean’s List, accomplished by a 3.50 or higher GPA.

The Nittany Lions were also nationally recognized for their hard work in the classroom. The team garnered 20 Big Ten Distinguished Scholars and a program record 27 Academic All-Big Ten honorees.

The IWLCA most recently announced the 2024 spring Academic Honor Roll and Academic Squads with Penn State landing 29 on the honor roll and making the academic squad for the third consecutive year.

Another historical year by the Nittany Lions was rounded out by success in the classroom.
