Lynnzee Brown Makes History in Olympic Gymnastics Debut

Brown earned a personal-best 48.832 all-around score Sunday

PARIS – Penn State women’s gymnastics assistant coach Lynnzee Brown officially became the first Haitian gymnast ever to compete in the Olympics when she showcased her talents on the world stage in the qualification round of the women’s artistic gymnastics competition at the Paris games on Sunday.

Brown achieved her highest-ever all-around score in international competition on Sunday in Paris, a 48.832 tally. Her all-around score included an excellent 13.566 score on vault, as well as a 12.233 mark on floor, an 11.533 on beam, and an 11.500 on the uneven bars. Brown earned her spot in the Paris Olympics via universality place and represented Haiti well with a lifetime-best performance.

The former Denver standout will return to Happy Valley following the Olympics to help guide the Nittany Lions’ 2025 roster as an assistant coach. In her first campaign as a coach, Brown and her fellow assistant coaches were named the North East Region’s Assistant Coaching Staff of the Year following Penn State’s outstanding 2024 season in which the team advanced to the NCAA Regional Final.
