Nedoroscik Wins Bronze in Team Finals for United States

Penn State alumnus Stephen Nedoroscik’s stellar pommel horse routine secured the United States a spot on the podium for the first time since 2008.

PARIS – Penn State alumnus Stephen Nedoroscik won a bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics for the United States in the men’s gymnastics team finals Monday afternoon.

The Worcester, Mass. native helped the United States secure a spot on the podium after posting a score of 14.866 on his speciality, pommel horse.

“I knew he had it as soon as I saw him take the podium and do his arm swings and take his warmup,” said head coach Randy Jepson. “It’s just all about the first circle he does and as soon as he got that I knew his tempo was right and he was off to the races. I couldn’t be happier for Penn State’s second bronze medalist at the Olympics.”

Team USA placed third with a score of 257.793 following China (259.062) and first place Japan (259.594).

Nedoroscik will compete in the individual event finals on Saturday after narrowly missing first place in qualification by a tenth of a point in execution (15.200).
