UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State announced on Tuesday its promotions/match theme schedule for the 2024 women's volleyball season. Two of the team's annual events highlight the schedule as the Nittany Lions will hold their Wear White Match when they host Big Ten newcomer Oregon on Friday, Oct. 4, and will hold their Dig Pink event when they welcome Minnesota to Rec Hall on Sunday, Oct. 20.
Fans can look forward to an exciting home opener as the Nittany Lions host Louisville on Tuesday, Sept. 3. The match features the only two female head coaches to lead their teams to the NCAA Regional in each of the past two NCAA Division I Tournaments.
The first Big Ten home match of the season features a new theme for the program as the Nittany Lions host Michigan State for Alzheimer’s Awareness Night on Sunday, Sept. 29.
In addition to it being the annual Dig Pink event, the match against Minnesota on Sunday, Oct. 20 will also include a celebration of the program’s alumni. Special recognition will be given to the NCAA Championship teams from 1999, 2009, and 2014.
Other promotions/themes during the 2024 season including Halloween/Youth Day against Michigan on Oct. 30, THON match against Illinois on Nov. 15, Professor Night against Purdue on Nov. 21, and Senior Night against Washington on Nov. 24.
Penn State is coming off its 43rd consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
