COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Penn State women's ice hockey forward Tessa Janecke was named to the 2024 United States Collegiate Select Series roster as USA Hockey announced on Monday.
The 2024 Collegiate Series features a three-game series against Canada from August 14-17. All three games will take place at the Canada Games Park in St. Catharines, Ontario.
This is Janecke's second appearance on the Collegiate Select Series roster after spending time on the USA National Team in two IIHF Women's World Championship tournaments and on Rivalry Series teams. She becomes just the second Nittany Lion to ever be named to the select series roster since its creation in 1999.

At Penn State, Janecke has led the Nittany Lions to two straight NCAA tournament appearances and two straight College Hockey America titles. In her sophomore season, she was named an CCM/AHCA Second Team All-American after a career-high year.
Her sophomore season consisted of being named to the First Team All-CHA, CHA Player, CHA Forward of the Year, and finished the regular season as the leagues scoring champion after recording a career-high 17 goals and 36 assists.
The Orangeville, Ill. native was named CHA Forward of the Week four times and CHA Forward of the Month three times. She also tallied two hat-tricks coming against Lindenwood and Dartmouth. Janecke recorded a total of 53 points which sat tied for eighth in the nation while she led the nation in faceoff wins with 630 and was tied for fourth in assists with 36.
Janecke also became the fastest player in program history to hit 100 career points that she accomplished after scoring a goal against RIT in the second game of the CHA tournament semifinals. She was also named a Top 10 Patty Kazmaier Award finalist for the first time in her career.
