MacEachern Inks Contract with Shenzhen KRS Red Stars

Second Nittany Lion from 2023-24 roster to ink professional contract

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State women's ice hockey graduate defenseman Maggie MacEachern signed a professional contract with the Shenzhen KRS Red Stars in the Chinese Women's Hockey League (WCIHL) on Monday.

MacEachern joined the Nittany Lions after spending four years at Colgate University and was one of the top defensemen on the 2023-24 roster.

During her season at Penn State, she tallied six goals, 13 assists, 48 blocked shots and a plus/minus rating of +18. MacEachern was named to the Second Team All-CHA list and was named CHA Defensive Player of the Week three times during the season.

She also was named CHA Defensive Player of the Month after leading the Nittany Lions with 11 blocked shots and having one assist in the month of September. The Brooklin, Ontario native recorded four multi-point games during the season and tallied one game-winning goal which came against Mercyhurst on February 3.

MacEachern finished her collegiate career with 62 points off 17 goals and 45 assists while playing in 178 games.
