Penn State Fencing Announces 2024-25 Schedule

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; September 20, 2024 – The Penn State Nittany Lion men’s and women’s fencing teams, under the guidance of Matteo Zennaro, has released its 2024-25 schedule. The Nittany Lions will once again its home dual series in January. Additionally, Penn State will serve as the host site for the 2025 NCAA Fencing Championships in late March.

The season begins with select Penn State athletes will taking part in the North American Cup (NAC) event in Philadelphia on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 26-27.  Two weekends later, select Nittany Lions will head to Kentucky for the NAC Louisville event on Saturday through Monday, Nov. 8-11.

The Nittany Lions return to NCAA action on Sunday, Nov. 17, at the Penn Invitational in Philadelphia, Pa. December’s schedule features the NAC Atlanta tournament on Friday through Sunday, Dec. 6-8, in Georgia.  Penn State will also visit Waltham, Mass., for the Brandeis Invitational on Dec. 8. The new year begins with the NAC Kansas City tournament on Friday through Monday, Jan. 3-6. Penn State treks to Queens, N.Y., for the St. John’s University dual series on Saturday, Jan. 18, and sends fencers to Penn on Sunday, Jan. 19, as well.

Penn State hosts its dual series on Sunday, Jan. 26, welcoming North Carolina, Columbia, Haverford, Duke, Yale and the Temple women to Happy Valley. The Nittany Lions trek to Durham, N.C., for the Duke Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 8-9. Select Nittany Lions will compete in the 2025 Junior Olympics in Charlotte, N.C., on Friday through Monday, Feb. 14-17. The dual portion of the schedule closes out the next weekend when Penn State visits Temple on Sunday, Feb. 23.

The 2025 NCAA post-season begins with the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regionals on Saturday, March 8, at a site to be announced. The NAC Cleveland is also set for Friday through Monday, March 7-10, in Ohio. The 2025 NCAA Championships will take place in Penn State’s Multi-Sport Building on Thursday through Sunday, March 20-23, in University Park, Pa.
