PARKING
- Parking for Penn State women's ice hockey games at Pegula Ice Arena will be available at the following locations beginning two hours prior to the start of each game:
- Stadium, West, Jordan East, Porter North
- No charge with a valid Penn State parking pass
- $5.50 prepaid through ParkMobile (season package available for $5 per game): ParkMobile Link
- $10 day-of-event without a valid permit or prepayment (pay station or ParkMobile app – zone no. 95112)
- ParkMobile prepayment availability ends at 11:59 p.m. the night before each event. Events will not be selectable on the site after that time, and payment must then be made on site upon arrival to event parking staff (cash only).
- NOTE: Curtain Road will close at 5 p.m. on Friday for homecoming parade and will reopen at 8 p.m.
HISTORY
- Penn State is facing Northeastern for the third time in program history.
- The series is currently tied at 1-1-0 with the last meeting occurring on September 24, 2023, when Penn State won 2-1.
- The Nittany Lions have faced Hockey East teams 51 times in the programs history and tally a record of 16-24-13.
SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
- Northeastern enters the 2024-25 season after being picked to finish second in the Hockey East preseason poll.
- Last season, the Huskies went 25-11-3 overall and 16-8-3 in league play.
- The Huskies ended the season finishing second in the league after falling to UConn in the Hockey East Tournament championship game.
- The Huskies return 21 to the team from last year’s roster.
ON THE OFFENSIVE
- Penn State returns four of their top point getters from last year’s CHA Tournament Championship team including Tessa Janecke, Mya Vaslet, Katelyn Roberts, and Brianna Brooks.
- The Nittany Lions sat ninth in the nation in the scoring offense in 2023-24 averaging 3.18 goals per game.
- They also sat ninth in the nation in total points with 319 in the same season.
- Penn State sat sixth in the nation in power-play goals with a total of 32 which was a program record for most power-play goals in a single season.
SCHEDULE HIGHLIGHTS
- 34 regular-season games, including 14 home games at Pegula Ice Arena.
- The Nittany Lions will make their first appearance in program history at the annual Ice Breaker, Smashville, and East West Showcase.
- Five games against three 2024 NCAA Tournament teams (UConn, Cornell, Ohio State, Stonehill, and Minnesota).
- Five games against Hockey East opponents (UConn, Northeastern, Merrimack).
- The Nittany Lions face Bemidji State for the first time in program history on Jan. 3 in Minneapolis, Minn.
- Penn State hosts Northeastern for the first time in program history on Sept. 26-27.
- 20 AHA conference games with home and away series against Syracuse, Lindenwood, Mercyhurst, RIT and Robert Morris.
QUEST FOR A 3-PEAT BEGINS
- Penn State opens the 2024-25 season on the quest for its third straight CHA Tournament title and NCAA tournament appearance.
- The Nittany Lions have taken over the AHA since 2022-23 after winning three straight regular season titles and the last two tournament titles.
- Penn State was picked to once again be champs in the AHA in the 2024-25 AHA Coaches’ Poll.
- All eyes will be set on the Nittany Lions this season as look to get over the hump of winning their first NCAA tournament game in program history.
