UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; Sept. 30, 2024 – Penn State Nittany Lion senor Phia Gladieux has been named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 29, 2024. The honor is the first for Gladieux this year and the third for Penn State this season.
Gladieux continued her torrid offensive pace, notching eight points off three goals and two assists in Penn State's 2-0 weekend. Gladieux had a goal and an assist on Friday in Penn State's 3-2 Big Ten win over Indiana. Two days later, Gladieux tallied two goals and an assist as Penn State rolled over visiting Lafayette 5-1 on Sunday. Gladieux now has 15 goals and four assists this season for 34 points. She upped her career totals to 192 points off 89 goals and 14 assists. She has scored in all nine of Penn State’s games this year.
Penn State’s other weekly honors went to freshman goalie Aby Deverka, who won Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Sept. 15 and Sept. 1.
Penn State is 6-3 on the year, 1-0 in Big Ten play. The Nittany Lions are at Iowa on Friday, Oct. 4, at 6 p.m. Eastern and at Northwestern on Sunday, Oct. 6, at 1 p.m. Eastern.
