Men’s Golf Finishes Tied for Fourth at Nemacolin Collegiate Invitational

Three Nittany Lions finish in top 20

Nemacolin Collegiate Invitational Final Results

FARMINGTON, Pa. – Three Nittany Lions finished in the top 20, headlined by Alex Creamean’s eighth-place finish, as the Penn State men’s golf team used a strong final two rounds to finish tied for fourth place at the Nemacolin Collegiate Invitational Monday.

Penn State finished tied for fourth in the 14-team field at 21-over, 885. The Nittany Lions were ninth in the team field following a 308 (+20) in the opening round, but rebounded strongly with a 293 (+5) in the second and 284 (-4) in the third round to surge up the leaderboard.

Alex Creamean collected his first top-10 finish in the Blue & White, placing eighth at 2-over, 218 (76-73-69).

Jake Griffin earned his highest finish thus far this season, coming in at 5-over, 221 (75-72-74), to place 13th. Andres Barraza followed closely behind in 19th place at 7-over, 223 (78-75-70).

Robby O’Regan finished 26th at 9-over, 225 (80-73-72), while Morgan Lofland came in at 15-over, 231 (79-79-73), to place 49th.

Will Preston played as an individual and finished 54th at 17-over, 233 (74-81-78).

The Nittany Lions return to action Sunday and Monday, Oct. 6-7, when Penn State heads to the West Bay Collegiate in Estero, Fla.
