Women's Golf Concludes Play at Landfall Tradition

Penn State wrapped up its fall season of competition this weekend at the Landfall Tradition at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, North Carolina. The Nittany Lions finished 16 th in the 17-team field.

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Penn State wrapped up its fall season of competition this weekend at the Landfall Tradition at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, North Carolina. The Nittany Lions finished 16 th in the 17-team field.

Florida State held off Duke to win by a single stroke at 2-under while North Carolina (1-over), Ole Miss (2-over) and UCF (4-over) round out the top-5 in a highly competitive finish.

Freshman Jiratchaya Jiratthitinun (Bangkok, Thailand) opened the tournament with an even-par 72 on Friday and paced Penn State over the weekend finishing 11-over, 227, while senior Drew Nienhaus (St. Louis, Mo.) finished one stroke back of Jiratthitinun at 12-over, 228, with her best round coming on Saturday when she carded a 3-over, 75.

Senior Michelle Cox (Allentown, Pa.) finished the weekend 20-over while classmate Jami Morris (Chagrin Falls, Ohio) and freshman Gwendolyn Powell (Madison Township, Pa.) finished 26-over and 32-over, respectively, to round out the scoring.
