Penn State Swim and Dive Adds Six to Squad on National Signing Day

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State swimming and diving team announces the signing of six new student-athletes to the class of 2029 team. The signee class includes athletes from California, New York, Ohio, and Georgia.

"We are very excited for our 2025 class that brings on high achieving student-athletes who are eager to excel in the pool and the in the classroom," said Penn State swimming and diving head coach Hollie Bonewit-Cron. "We are embarking on a new era for Penn State Swimming and Diving and are looking forward to how these high aspiring future Nittany Lions will grow and impact our program!"

IAN COMBS

Combs is a swimmer from Atlanta, Georgia who competes in the freestyle, backstroke, butterfly, and breaststroke events. He joins us from Chamblee High School and the Dynamo Swim Club where he posted personal bests of 2:09.42 in the 200 Breast and 9:52.29 in the 1000 Free.

MILLIE EVANS

Evans joins the Nittany Lions from Columbus, Ohio where she is ranked fifth in the state in her recruiting class. She will graduate from Bexley High School and is a part of Central Ohio Aquatics, where she specializes in butterfly, IM, and freestyle. Evans has recorded impressive personal bests of 2:07.31 in the 200 IM and 54.03 in the 100 Fly to win the Speedo Winter Junior Championship.

LIAM MULROY

Coming to Happy Valley all the way from Trabuco Canyon California, Mulroy is a swimmer who specializes in freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke. He is currently a member of Mission Viejo Nadadores and will graduate from Tesoro High School next year. Mulroy has accomplished personal bests of 52.46 in the 100 Free and 55.76 in the 100 Fly.

CAMERON PETITT

Petitt is a swimmer from Powell, Ohio who swims in freestyle, backstroke, and butterfly events. He is set to graduate from The Wellington School in Columbus and is a member of the Buckeye Swim Club. Petitt has posted personal bests of 4:02.51 in the 400 Free and 58.69 in the 100 Back to secure a first-place win at the USA Swimming Futures Championship.

ELIZABETH PUCCI-SHAEFER

Pucci-Shaefer is a diver out of Fredonia, New York who will graduate from Fredonia High School next year. In the pool she swims freestyle, but she also competes in 1m diving. Pucci-Shaefer has recorded personal bests of 579.15 in 1m Diving 1:05.28 in the 100 Free.

JULIA SHAFER

Shafer comes to Penn State from Mainesville, Ohio and swims in the freestyle, backstroke, and butterfly. She is currently a senior at Cincinnati Hills Christian High School and is a member of the Mason Manta Rays. Shafer has posted personal bests of 58.14 in the 100 Free and 55.41 in the 100 Fly.
