UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State baseball team announced its 2025 schedule on Thursday. The 56-game slate includes 26 games at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park and eight games against 2024 NCAA Regional teams.
Penn State is set to open the 2025 season at the inaugural Puerto Rico Challenge on Feb. 14-16. Penn State will take on Missouri on Friday, Feb. 14 at 5 p.m. The Nittany Lions meet Stetson on Saturday at 11 a.m. and UConn on Sunday at 2 p.m. All games will be played at Estadio Yldefonso Solá Morales in Caguas. Stetson played in the 2024 Tallahassee Regional, while UConn won the Norman Regional before falling in the Tallahassee Super Regional.
The Nittany Lions travel to Longwood for a four-game series in Farmville, Va on Feb. 21-23. The series includes a doubleheader on Saturday.
Penn State visits the state of Virginia for three games on Feb. 28-Mar. 2. The Nittany Lions take on Richmond on Friday, Feb. 28. Penn State visits VCU on Saturday, Mar. 1 and William & Mary in Williamsburg on Sunday, Mar. 2. VCU played in the NCAA Greenville Regional after winning the Atlantic 10 championship.
The blue and white opens Big Ten play against Indiana with a three-game series on Mar. 7-9 before traveling to compete against Georgetown on Mar. 11-12. The Nittany Lions concludes its Spring Break week with Big Ten action at Northwestern on Mar. 14-16. Indiana competed in the NCAA Knoxville Regional.
Penn State begins a seven-game homestand on March 18 against St. Bonaventure and continues on March 19 against Lafayette. The Nittany Lions host Michigan State on Mar. 21-23 before welcoming Pitt on March 25 and Bucknell on March 26.
The blue and white travels to Ann Arbor on Mar. 28-30 for a three-game series against Michigan.
The Nittany Lions host Bucknell on Tuesday, Apr. 1 and FDU on Wednesday, Apr. 2 before visiting Minnesota for a three-game series on Apr. 4-6.
Penn State visits Morgantown on Tuesday, Apr. 8 for a midweek contest against West Virginia before welcoming USC for a three-game series at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park on Apr. 11-13. The Mountaineers won the Tucson Regional before falling in the Chapel Hill Regional.
The blue and white hosts Delaware on Tuesday, Apr. 15 and continues its homestand against Purdue on Apr. 18-20.
The Nittany Lions welcome West Virginia on Tuesday, Apr. 22 before traveling to UCLA on Apr. 25-27.
Penn State takes on Rider on Wednesday, Apr. 30 before finishing its Big Ten home slate on May 2-4 against Maryland.
The Nittany Lions conclude their Big Ten schedule on May 9-11 at Rutgers.
Penn State go on the road on Tuesday, May 13 to meet Pitt.
The blue and white wraps up the regular season on May 15-17 against Xavier. The Nittany Lions and Musketeers will battle on May 15 and 17 at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. On Friday, May 16, PSU will take on Xavier at FNB Field, home of the Double-A Harrisburg Senators.
The Big Ten Tournament begins on Monday, May 19 in Omaha, Neb. The tournament will be played at Charles Schwab Field and concludes on Saturday, May 24.
In 2024, Penn State went 29-24 overall and 12-12 in Big Ten play in its first year under head coach Mike Gambino. The 29 wins are Penn State’s most under a first-year head coach.
Penn State posted its first winning record in the regular season since 2016 (28-27) and maintained a .500 or better mark from the entire season for the first time since 2011 (32-22). The Blue and White notched its best record in Big Ten play since going 12-12 in 2016.
Penn State reached the Big Ten Tournament Championship Game for the first time since 2000 and won three-straight games to open the Big Ten Tournament for the first time in program history.
