Men's Lacrosse Lands Three on Inside Lacrosse's Top 50 Players for 2025 List

Jack Fracyon, Alex Ross, and Matt Traynor were each named to the list

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Inside Lacrosse named three Penn State men’s lacrosse players to its Top 50 Players for 2025 list this month. Jack Fracyon, Alex Ross, and Matt Traynor were each named to the list. 

Fracyon was ranked 14th on the list, which was the highest of the Nittany Lions. Inside Lacrosse and USA Lacrosse Magazine named the Annapolis, Maryland native an All-American. He also earned the Big Ten’s Specialist of the Year award for a second consecutive year. Fracyon had a strong junior season as he was also a First Team All-Big Ten pick. He led the Big Ten in save percentage in the regular season at .589.

He also led the Big Ten in saves per game, stopping 13.88 shots per game. The Big Ten named him Specialist of the Week twice last season, and USA Lacrosse Magazine named him Division I Player of the Week twice. He recorded a career-high 19 saves against Michigan on April 13 and held opponents to under 10 goals in 11 games in 2024. He started in every game and registered a record of 11-5, which is tied for a career-high in wins in a season. Fracyon also tallies a 57.1% career save percentage which ranks fifth in NCAA Division I. 

They ranked Ross 29th after his 2024 USILA Lacrosse All-American Honorable Mention nod; he led the Nittany Lions with 16 caused turnovers and 30 ground balls. The Davidsonville, Md. native forced turnovers in eight games out of the 16 he played in. Ross also earned a spot on the All-Big Ten Second Team and received honorable mentions from USA Lacrosse and Inside Lacrosse All-American. During his sophomore season, the Big Ten named him Defensive Player of the Week once for his play against Navy on February 24. 

Traynor earned a rank of 48th after a career-high junior season in 2024. He recorded 45 goals and seven assists in 2024. Traynor registered four goals or more in four different games while he sat third in the Big Ten in goals and seventh in the Big Ten in points. The Downingtown, Pa. native earned a spot on the All-Big Ten Second Team and twice won the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week award in 2024. On March 9 against Cornell, Traynor tallied a single-game high seven goals which aided in Penn State's massive 20-9 victory.
