UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State swimming and diving team is sending 13 squad members to compete in the TYR Pro Series- Toyota U.S. Open starting on Wednesday, December 4 and going through Saturday, December 7 in Greensboro, N.C.
Thursday:
- Morgan Moore and Catherine Meisner will compete in the 500 Free starting at 9 a.m.
- On the men’s side, Jack Clancy, Rylan Anslelm, Andrew Christensen and Eduardo Cisternas will compete in the 500 free.
- Margaret Markvardt is set to compete in the 200 IM.
- For the men’s 200 IM, Andrew Christensen, Sean Honey and Matthew Bittner will represent the Nittany Lions.
- Moving on to the 50 Free, Margaret Markvardt and and Ellie Brandbergh will swim for the women.
- The Men’s 50 Free will feature Tylor Kim, Mariano Lazzerini, Matthew Bittner and Jack Harvey.
Friday:
- For the men’s 400 IM, Nittany Lions Sean Honey and Andrew Christensen will compete.
- Margaret Markvardt and Matthew Bittner will compete in the women’s/men’s 100 Fly.
- Penn State swimmers Catherine Meisner and Morgan Moore will compete in the 200 Free.
- The men’s 200 Free will feature Tylor Kim, Mariano Lazzerini, Sean Honey, Rylan Anselm and Jack Clancy.
- Audrey Cohen, Mariano Lazzerini and Filipe Pinheiro will represent the Nittany Lions in the 100 Breast
- In the 100 Back, Margaret Markvardt, Matthew Bittner and Jack Harvey are set to compete.
Saturday:
- Kicking off the final day will be Morgan Moore and Rylan Anselm in the 1650 Free.
- The men’s 200 Back will feature Jack Harvey, Matthew Bittner and Sean Honey.
- Margaret Markvardt and Catherine Meisner will swim in the women’s 100 Free.
- On the men’s side, Tylor Kim, Jack Harvey and Matthew Bittner will swim in the 100 Free.
- The 200 Breast will close out the meet, featuring Nittany Lions Audrey Cohen, Mariano Lazzerini and Filipe Pinheiro.
The Nittany Lions are coming off the Ohio State Invitational, where they competed against multiple teams including Ohio State, Indiana, Louisville, UCLA and more. The men’s team finished in fifth place overall and the women came in at seventh. Notably, Alex Karahalis broke a school record in the 200 IM during preliminaries with a time of 1:44.60.
