PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Penn State men's tennis team dropped its road match at Penn on Sunday. The squad fought a tough battle, but ultimately fell 4-0.
DOUBLES
Nolan Ranger and Ari Cotoulas moved up to play at No. 1, but fell 6-4 to Parashar Bharardwaj and Manfredi Graziani.
Miko Eala and Alex Sterin played at No. 3 against Tal Goodman and Aaron Sandler, but dropped their match, 7-5.
At No. 2, Jack Martuccio and Stefan Simeunovic were tied 6-6 with Matthew Rutter and Baylor Sai, but their match went unfinished, as Penn won the doubles point before the conclusion of the match.
SINGLES
Simeunovic played at the No. 1 spot, but fell to Graziani, 6-1, 6-2. At No. 4, Cotoulas dropped his match, 6-1, 6-3, against Rutter. Ritvik Nadikude played Goodman at No. 6, but fell 6-0, 6-0.
At No. 2, Ranger was down 7-6 against Sandler in the first set. Martuccio was battling tough, but was trailing 6-4, 1-1 against Sai. Sterin had entered his second set at No. 5, but was down 6-2, 1-0 against Bharadwaj. The matches went unfinished after Penn clinched the match point.
