UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State track and field team is set to host the Jim Thorpe Invitational on Friday afternoon, the team's final meet of the 2024 outdoor regular season. The Nittany Lions will honor their graduating senior class with a special event following the meet.

Head Coach John Gondak's team will compete on Friday looking to improve marks as it heads into postseason competition with the Big Ten Championships next weekend. The Nittany Lions' women's team enters the weekend with 27 marks ranked in the top ten in the conference this season while the men's team has amassed 20 top-ten marks of its own.
Led by the No. 1 men's shot put team, the Nittany Lions have five event squads ranked in the top ten in Division I. Penn State also boasts the No. 2 women's 800-meter group, the No. 3 men's 800-meter squad, the No. 4 women's 1500-meter team, and the No. 6 women's 5K group.
