HISTORY

• Penn State is facing the Raiders for the 25th time in program history.
• Penn State leads the series 14-10. 
• The last last faced the Raiders on February 3rd, 2024 when the Nittany Lions were defeated by the Raiders 12-13. 

SCOUTING THE RAIDERS

• Colgate enters their first match this season against Penn State.
• In the 2024 season, Colgate wrapped up their season with a 8-7 record and 5-3 record in Patriot conference play. 
• The Raiders lost their three top offensive attack players due to graduation as well as their top goaltender. 
• Goalkeeper Matt LaCombe was named Patriot League Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year and five Raiders have earned Patriot League Preseason All-League Honors this year.

FULL OF NEWCOMERS

• Penn State welcomes in 12 newcomers to the 2025 roster while retaining 33 players from the 2024 season. 
• Two transfers join the team which include Ryan DiRocco and Jack Aimone.

 

TEAM CAPTAINS

• Penn State head coach Jeff Tambroni named Matt Traynor, Jack Fracyon and Kevin Parnham as team captains for the 2024 season. 
• Parnham, Traynor, and Fracyon are entering their fourth seasons as Nittany Lions.
• The three have played in a combined 105 games at Penn State so far in their careers. 

YEAR 15

• Heading into his 15th season in 2025, head coach Jeff Tambroni views the opportunity to lead Team 112 as a great privilege. “It’s truly an honor to represent Penn State lacrosse” said Tambroni. 
• “Our program takes immense pride in the legacy built by the coaches and players who came before us. The foundation they established is something we deeply value and continue to build upon.”
• Through his 14 years at Penn State, Tambroni has accumulated 118 wins which is second most in program history. 
• Glenn Thiel holds the most wins at penn state with 236. 

SPECIAL JERSEY NUMBERS

• Senior Jack Fracyon will wear the No. 11 jersey for the first time in his career.
• The No. 11 is presented to a young man who has persevered in the face of adversity. 
• The No. 11 jersey, worn by Michael Jacober, 2002-05, has become symbolic of the strength and compassion of the 2005 Penn State lacrosse team who rallied around Michael after his family was tragically killed in a plane crash during his senior season.

• Senior Kevin Parnham will wear the No. 16 jersey for a first season.
• Since 2016, to a senior who best represents the “Heart of a Competitor” in honor of our “Teammate for Life” Connor Darcey. Connor passed away tragically on June 12, 2015 in a car accident, prior to his redshirt junior season.
• The No. 16 is passed down by the student-athlete who had the honor of wearing the No. 16 during the previous season.
