UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State men’s gymnastics junior Matt Underhill earned a third-place finish on the rings at the 2025 Winter Cup in Louisville, Kentucky, following the conclusion of Sunday’s competition.

The event marked Underhill’s first career senior championship for the Oconomowoc, Wisconsin native.

"I am very pleased with how Matt performed here in his first Senior Championships,” said Jepson. “He was very poised and confident and that bodes well for the rest of his NCAA season. Job well done!”

Underhill posted a 13.350 on day one, which was good for third after the conclusion of Friday’s first round competition. On day two, the finance major made his routine count with a 13.650, bringing his weekend total to 27.000 and securing the bronze medal on rings.
