UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State baseball’s game against FDU has been moved from Wednesday, April 2 to Tuesday, March 4. First pitch is set for 5:30 p.m. at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. The game will be free admission for all ages.
The matchup with FDU will serve as Penn State’s home opener and will be broadcast on B1G+.
As a Tuesday home game, it will also be a Dollar Dog Night, featuring $1 hot dogs.
Across nine Dollar Dog Nights in 2023 and 2024, Penn State fans have consumed 35,177 hot dogs. Against Kent State last season, Penn State set a Dollar Dog Night record with 8,591 hot dogs eaten and set a new attendance record (5,025).
Military Appreciation Day, originally set for April 2, will now be on Wednesday, March 26 when Penn State takes on Bucknell.
The Nittany Lions, led by head coach Mike Gambino, are 5-1 after a weekend sweep at Longwood. PSU earned 11-1 and 10-0 wins on Saturday and a 15-7 victory on Sunday.
Penn State junior outfielder Paxton Kling was named Perfect Game National Player of the Week and Big Ten Player of the Week after collecting seven hits, four homers, six RBI and seven runs, including a two-homer performance in Saturday’s first game.
The Nittany Lions return to the state of Virginia for three games this weekend, beginning on Friday against Richmond at 1:30 p.m. Penn State takes on VCU on Saturday at 2 p.m. and William & Mary on Sunday at 1 p.m. All games will be broadcast on ESPN+.
