No. 64 Men’s Tennis To Play New Big Ten Opponents No. 58 Washington, No. 54 Oregon

The Nittany Lions will play Washington on Friday at 8 p.m. ET, Oregon on Sunday at noon

SEATTLE, Wash./ EUGENE, Ore.- The No. 64 Penn State Men’s Tennis team is set to travel to the West Coast to take on No. 58 Washington and No. 54 Oregon this weekend. The Nittany Lions will play Washington on Friday, March 14 at 8 p.m. ET and Oregon on Sunday, March 16 at noon.

 

THE NITTANY LIONS 

The squad comes off an away match against then-No. 3 Ohio State, falling 5-2. At first singles, Loren Byers took down No. 10 Aidan Kim, earning himself a Big Ten Player of the Week honor. David Lindsay captured a win at sixth singles. The Blue and White are ranked at No. 64 and hold an 11-3 (0-1) record.

 

LOOKING AT THE HUSKIES 

Washington welcomes the Nittany Lions to Seattle ranked at No. 58 with an 8-4 (0-2) record on the season. With four-straight losses, including two to conference opponents No. 47 Michigan State and No. 18 Michigan, the Huskies look towards another new Big Ten opponent.  

 

SCOUTING THE DUCKS 

Oregon has started off their season with an 8-6 (0-2) record and is ranked at No. 54. The Ducks are on a four-match losing streak, with losses to No. 47 Michigan State and No. 18 Michigan. Oregon will host No. 4 Ohio State on Friday, March 14 before hosting the Nittan Lions on Sunday, March 16.  

 

UP NEXT 

Following the weekend on the West Coast, the Nittany Lions will return home to continue their Big Ten play against No. 48 Nebraska and No. 58 Wisconsin. The match against Nebraska is slated to begin at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 21, and the Wisconsin match will take place on Sunday, March 23 at 11 a.m.
