VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.– Olivier Desmeules’ First Team All-America finish in the men’s 800-meter final concluded the Penn State track & field team’s outing at the 2025 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in the Virginia Beach Sports Center.
As a team, the men’s group posted a scoring finish at the NCAA Indoor Championships for the third consecutive season and the 15th time in the last 18 contested championships (The 2020 indoor meet was canceled due to COVID-19). Penn State finished with eight All-American efforts in this year’s indoor championship meet, with Desmeules’ eighth-place finish in the men’s 800-meters the highest individual finish of the group.
ALL-AMERICANS – CHAMPIONSHIP SATURDAY
M 800m – Desmeules, First Team, 8th
- Desmeules became Penn State’s tenth indoor 800-meter First Team All-American (12th instance) on the men’s side with his 1:48.84 eighth-place finish on Saturday night.
- Penn State has had a First Team All-American in the men’s indoor 800m in three consecutive seasons (Roban – 2023, Roban – 2024, Desmeules – 2025), and is the only Division I school to accomplish that feat over the past three years.
- The All-America citation is the first of Desmeules’ career.
UP NEXT
With the indoor season wrapped up, the Nittany Lions will contest their first outdoor meet of the year when they travel to Philadelphia for the Penn Challenge on March 22, their first competition of the 2025 outdoor season.
