Nittany Lions post strong road score in final meet of the regular season

CLEMSON, S.C. – Penn State women’s gymnastics (11-7, 4-5 Big Ten) earned a 196.150 in its regular season finale at Clemson on Friday night.

Penn State gymnasts won vault, bars, beam, and all-around titles but ended up falling to Clemson (196.450) in an energetic contest. Once again getting top-end outings from veterans and strong supporting routines by underclassmen, the Nittany Lions put up a solid road score in the final weekend of the regular season, boosting their NQS entering the Big Ten Championships.

ROTATION RECAP

Penn State began its night on bars where it earned a 49.100 thanks to event-winning 9.85 tallies from Gabbie Gallentine and Dani Latronica. All six Nittany Lions earned 9.8-plus scores in rotation one, as Maddie Johnston, Elina Vihrova, Elizabeth Leary, and Cassi Barbanente each posted 9.8 scores.

Johnston secured a season-best 9.875 to win vault as Penn State scored a 48.850 in the second rotation. A 9.775 from Leary and a 9.75 from Salcedo rounded out the top three Nittany Lion scores.

Freshman Bella Misiura’s 9.825 in her Penn State debut highlighted a floor rotation in which the Nittany Lions earned a 48.975 as a team. Sophomore Alyssa Kramer led the group, comprised entirely of underclassmen, with a 9.85 score.

Once again, the Nittany Lions saved their best rotation for last as they earned a season-best 49.225 on beam in the fourth rotation. 9.875 scores from Maul, Salcedo, and Johnston led the way while Monahan and Latronica each scored 9.8s. Penn State’s top trio earned shares of the beam event title.

Leary completed her ninth all-around of the 2025 campaign, finishing with 39.100 points. As the only all-around competitor in the meet, she earned the event title by default.
