ROSEMONT, Ill. – Sophomore Aiden Fink (Calgary, Alberta), a unanimous First-Team All-Conference selection, headlines six Nittany Lions named to Big Ten All-Conference teams as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.
This marks the first time since 2019-20 that Penn State has had recognition on either the first or second teams with Fink becoming the seventh Nittany Lion to earn First-Team recognition and the first-ever to be selected unanimously across the board.
Senior Simon Mack (Brockville, Ontario) and junior Arsenii Sergeev (Yaroslavl, Russia) landed Second-Team laurels while sophomore Reese Laubach (San Jose, Calif.) earned honorable mention accolades.
Freshman classmates Charlie Cerrato (Fallston, Md.) and Cade Christenson (Edmonton, Alberta) occupy spots on the All-Freshman team with the latter being a unanimous selection, the second-straight year Penn State has had a unanimous All-Freshman team nod (Fink 2024).
Fink becomes the first Nittany Lion to earn First-Team All-Conference recognition since Cole Hults and Nate Sucese in 2019-20.
Fink’s 52 points this season are a new Penn State single-season record and are tops in the Big Ten and are good for second nationally while his 1.41 points per game pace the nation. Fink’s 29 assists also top the Big Ten and are tied for seventh nationally while his 23 goals are second in the conference and tied for sixth in the nation. His assist total is the most in a single-season in Penn State history with his 23 goals tying for the top spot.
The sophomore also leads the team with a plus-18 rating on the season while his eight powerplay tallies and two shorthanded scores both rank in the top-10 nationally with his man-advantage total tying his own PSU single-season record set last year. Fink leads the team with 15 multi-point efforts on the campaign and has only been kept off the scoresheet in eight of the 37 games this season.
Mack is having one of the best seasons statistically for a Nittany Lion defenseman all-time with career-high totals for points (27) and assists (24). Those marks rank fifth and first all-time for Penn State blueliners in a single-season and are good for second and first in the Big Ten and tied for 10th and fifth in the nation, respectively, for defensemen. The Brockville, Ontario native is also tied with Fink for the team lead with a plus-18 rating.

Sergeev, the first Nittany Lion goaltender to earn a spot on either the first or second team, is also having one of the best goaltending seasons in Penn State history posting a 17-8-4 record with a .915 save percentage and a 2.66 goals-against average. The Yaroslavl, Russia native is 13-4-4 since returning from injury in January with the 13 wins being the most in the Big Ten, five better than the next closest, and second-most nationally over that timeframe to go along with three shootout wins.
Sergeev’s 17 wins this season are tied for the fifth-most in a single-season by a Nittany Lion net-minder while his save percentage and goals-against average are currently the fourth and fifth best.
Laubach has career-highs across the board and is tied for third on the team with 30 points on 15 goals and 15 assists with his goal total tied for the second-most on the team.
Both Sergeev and Mack were named Big Ten Stars of the Week on three separate occasions this season while Fink and Laubach each earned a pair of weekly accolades.
Cerrato has flipped a switch in the second half of the season with 25 of his 37 points coming in 19 games played since January including 12 points (3G, 9A) during his current career-long six-game point streak. The rookie’s 37 points are the second-most in a single-season by a Penn State freshman and are good for tops in the Big Ten and third in the nation among first-year players.
Cerrato has 15 goals and 22 assists which rank first and second in the Big Ten for rookies and third and fifth nationally for freshmen. His assists are the second-most in a season by a Nittany Lion rookie all-time while his 15 goals tie Aiden Fink’s mark from a season ago for the fifth-most.
Christenson has played on the top pairing all season along with Mack and has posted a plus-17 rating with nine points on two goals and seven assists while leading the team with 71 blocked shots. The rookie leads the Big Ten with his 71 blocked shots, a mark tied for 11th in the nation, while his 1.97 blocks per game also top the conference and rank 10th nationally. Christenson’s 71 blocked shots are the eighth-most in a single-season by a Nittany Lion all-time and the most by a single player since 2018-19.
Senior Carson Dyck (Lethbridge, Alberta) was named Penn State’s Big Ten Sportsmanship Award honoree to round out the conference accolades for the Nittany Lions.
Penn State is currently waiting on a possible at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and a return trip to Allentown for the NCAA Regionals on March 28-30 after dropping a Big Ten Tournament semifinal contest at Ohio State over the weekend.
