ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Sophomore classmates Matt DiMarsico (Wexford, Pa.) and Dane Dowiak (Pittsburgh, Pa.) each scored twice to lead No. 12 Penn State past No. 4 Maine, 5-1, in the Allentown Regional Semifinal at the PPL Center on Friday evening.
Penn State used five unanswered goals to seal the victory improving to 21-13-4 in the process while the Black Bears drop to 24-8-6 overall as the Hockey East champions see their season come to an end in Allentown.
The Nittany Lions advance to their second Regional Final in the past three years and third overall and a date with the UConn Huskies on Sunday evening at 4:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2 and available for streaming in Canada on TSN+.
