Aquino Secures Fourth Big Ten Freshman of the Week Nod

This is Aquino’s fourth conference weekly award and Penn State’s seventh as a team

ROSEMONT, Ill.- Penn State men’s lacrosse’s Hunter Aquino is tabbed the Big Ten Freshman of the Week for the fourth time this season as announced by the conference on Tuesday afternoon. His four Big Ten Freshman of the Week nods are one away from tying the PSU program record and are the most of any Big Ten men’s lacrosse player this season.

The first year produced his fourth multi-goal and eighth multi-point outing this season on Saturday, posting at least two points in all of the Nittany Lions contests in 2025 thus far. He tallied two goals on his two shot attempts in Penn State’s game at no. 2 Maryland this past weekend. The Easton, Pa. native ranks fourth in the conference in points per game (3.11) and in shot percentage (.394). He also sits third in assists per game (1.67), the only freshman and non-upperclassman in the top five in all three statistical categories.

Aquino and the rest of the Nittany Lions return to action on Sunday, April 6 to take on no. 13 Michigan in Ann Arbor.
