Fracyon and Aquino Collect Big Ten Honors

Fracyon tabbed Specialist of the Week and Aquino is the Freshman of the Week

ROSEMONT, Ill.- Penn State men’s lacrosse’s Jack Fracyon and Hunter Aquino secure Big Ten Weekly Awards as announced by the conference on Tuesday afternoon. Fracyon is named the Specialist of the Week and Aquino garners Freshman of the Week honors for the sixth time this season, capturing a new program record.

Fracyon had an outstanding performance in PSU’s win over no. 19 Rutgers on senior night. Not only was he impressive between the pipes with 13 saves and only four goals allowed, posting a .765 save percentage, the senior netminder recorded the first goal of his career. Fracyon’s shot from well beyond midfield in the clear marked the first goal recorded by a Penn State goalkeeper since Drew Adams scored for the Nittany Lions on April 15, 2008.

Aquino continues to thrive in his rookie campaign, adding a fourth game to his consecutive streak of posting at least one point in the outings. The freshman added one goal on one shot and an assist to total two points, marking his ninth multi-point performance this season. Aquino has recorded at least one point in all but one of Penn State’s games this year.

With this sixth Freshman of the Week nod, Aquino sets a new program record for Freshman of the Week awards in a single season. The record was previously set at five by Mac O’Keefe in 2017.
