Amiya Evans Signs with the Lady Lions

Kieger adds Evans to 2025 transfer class

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- Head coach Carolyn Kieger adds Amiya Evans to her 2025-26 roster. Evans is forward transfer from the University of Georgia and joins the Nittany Lions as a junior.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Amiya Evans to our Penn State Lady Lion family,” said Kieger. “Amiya brings a competitive edge, SEC-level experience and a relentless work ethic that aligns perfectly with the culture we’re building here. Her ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor, along with her hunger to rebound makes her a tremendous addition to our program. We can’t wait to see her thrive in Happy Valley”.

Originally from Pensacola, Fla., Evans spent three seasons at Georgia where she played in 52 games throughout three years. In her freshman campaign, she played in 12 games including big minutes in each of the Bulldogs’ contests against top-ranked South Carolina. In her sophomore season, she totaled 36 rebounds and 20 points as a reserve.

Evans' breakout season was her most recent in Athens. She played in 18 games, contributing 91 points, 111 rebounds and 13 blocks while recording six double figure scoring outings and five double-digit rebound performances.

Prior to her collegiate start at Georgia, Evans was a product of DME Academy in Dayton Beach Fla. She was a consensus four-star recruit out of high school and a top 70 prospect in the class of 2022. Evans was the no. 14 forward in the class of 2022 according to ESPN. Her talents led DME Academy to a no. 2 national ranking and semifinal appearance in the GEICO National Championship. In high school, the star forward averaged 9.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game, nearly a double-double.
