JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Florence Caron punched her ticket to the NCAA Championships to highlight a strong second day of NCAA East Regional Preliminaries action in Jacksonville, Fla. Thursday.
QUARTERFINAL QUALIFIERS
Florence Caron punched the first ticket to the NCAA Championships for Penn State in the women’s 10,000-meter race. Caron earned a second-place finish in the preliminaries after clocking in at 32:44.94.
Zoey Goldstein advanced to the quarterfinals in the women’s 400-meter race after running in 52.56 to set a new personal best and lower her No. 5 mark on the all-time Penn State program list.
ADDITIONAL EVENT PERFORMANCES
The men’s field events continued onto day two with shot put where Dylan Lambrecht recorded an 18.16m (59-7) throw.
Audrey Friedman recorded a 45.39m (148-11) throw in the women’s javelin.
Allison Johnson clocked in at 2:06.86 in the women’s 800-meter race.

Action at the NCAA East Region Preliminaries continue on Friday, May 30, with events for Penn State kicking off at 9:30 a.m. in the women’s pole vault.
