UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State field hockey team, under the direction of head coach Lisa Bervinchak Love, has announced its 2025 schedule. Eight home dates highlight the schedule for the Nittany Lions with the season starting in late August.
Penn State opens the season at Virginia on Friday, August 29 with a 5 p.m. game in Charlottesville. The Nittany Lions open up their home slate the next weekend with two non-conference games. Penn State welcomes Delaware to Happy Valley on Friday, Sept. 5, at 5 p.m. and St. Joseph’s on Sunday, Sept. 7, at 12 p.m.
The next weekend, Penn State hosts two more non-conference contests. Bucknell visits Penn State on Friday, Sept. 12, for a 6 p.m. contest and Kent State comes calling on Sunday, Sept. 14, at 12 p.m. The Nittany Lions open up Big Ten action on the road the following weekend, visiting Maryland on Friday, Sept. 19, at 5 p.m. Two days later, the Lions are at Lafayette on Sunday, Sept. 21, for a 12 p.m. battle.
Michigan State visits Penn State on Friday, Sept. 26 at 5 p.m. for the first home Big Ten game of the season. The Nittany Lions are on the road two days later, trekking to Syracuse for a 12 p.m. game on Sunday, Sept. 28. Penn State visits Michigan on Friday, Oct. 3, at 6 p.m. and Ohio State on Sunday, Oct. 5, at 12 p.m. in Big Ten action.
The Nittany Lions are at Northwestern on Friday, Oct. 10, at 5 p.m. for a conference contest. The next weekend, Penn State hosts two Big Ten foes. The Lions welcome Iowa to Happy Valley on Friday, Oct. 17, at 5 p.m. and Indiana on Sunday, Oct. 19, at 11 a.m.
Penn State visits Lock Haven on Friday, Oct. 24, for a 3 p.m. contest and closes out the road portion of its schedule at Princeton on Sunday, Oct. 26, at 12 p.m. The Nittany Lions finish off the regular season at home, hosting Rutgers on Friday, Oct. 31, at 5 p.m.
The 2025 Big Ten Tournament will be hosted by Indiana on Thursday through Sunday, Nov. 6-9. The NCAA tournament begins with regional action on the weekend of Nov. 14-16. The season concludes with the national semifinals and finals on Friday and Sunday, Nov. 21-23. The event is hosted by Duke University in Durham, N.C.
Penn State will host two preseason scrimmages in mid-August before the season begins in earnest. Lafayette will take part in a scrimmage on Friday, Aug. 15 at 12 p.m. and Lock Haven will be in Happy Valley for a scrimmage on Sunday, Aug. 24, at 11 a.m.
