Men’s Golf Adds Highly-Accomplished Transfer Tim Peters

Peters was two-time All-Region honoree at Millersville

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State men’s golf head coach Mark Leon has announced the addition of transfer Tim Peters to the Nittany Lion roster ahead of the 2025-26 season.

Peters, a State College native, comes home to Happy Valley following two stellar seasons at Millersville where he was a two-time All-Region honoree, the PSAC Athlete of the Year, PSAC Freshman of the Year, two-time first-team All-PSAC and a PSAC champion.

"We are thrilled to announce the addition of Tim Peters to our lineup,” said Leon. "Tim is a State College native and he's going to be a perfect fit here at Penn State. Tim has done an outstanding job over his first two seasons at Millersville University. He has seen consistent growth in his game and established himself as one of the best players in Division 2 throughout the 24-25 season. His scoring average improved from 73.4 to 71.8 from his freshman to sophomore year and he recorded 9 wins over his two seasons at Millersville. We expect Tim to immediately impact our competitiveness, and we're excited for his homecoming to Penn State! We Are!”

Peters set Millersville’s single-season scoring record with an adjusted scoring average of 71.8 during his sophomore season in 2024-25 and became Millersville’s first two-time All-Atlantic Region selection in seven years. He won four tournaments throughout his sophomore campaign and was named PSAC Men’s Golf Athlete of the Week on four occasions. He was Millersville’s top finisher at the NCAA Atlantic/East Super Regional, finished third at the PSAC Championships, and reached the final stage of U.S. Open qualifying in June.

Peters’ freshman season was one for the record books as he earned both PSAC Athlete and Freshman of the Year honors and won the PSAC individual championship. He won four tournaments during his rookie campaign and played in every round of the season while posting 10 top-10 finishes. He led Millersville at the NCAA Super Regional with a sixth-place finish.

Peters attended Saint Joseph’s Academy in Boalsburg, Pa., earning eight varsity letters in golf and basketball. He helped the golf team to a Tri-Valley Championship in 2022.
