ROSEMONT, Ill. – Penn State men’s basketball completed its 2025-26 schedule on Thursday, as the Big Ten Conference released the full 20-game slate for all 18 member institutions. The Nittany Lion B1G schedule features nine conference matchups inside the Bryce Jordan Center, in addition to a home date inside The Palestra in Philadelphia on January 3 against Illinois.
Highlights of the 2025-26 Nittany Lion men’s basketball Big Ten schedule include a quartet of weekend home games inside the Bryce Jordan Center, including Michigan State on Saturday, December 13, Minnesota on Sunday, February 1, USC on Sunday, February 8, and Iowa on Saturday, February 28. Penn State will also play host to the USC Trojans and UCLA Bruins for the first time as Big Ten Conference rivals this season, with both teams set to play in Happy Valley for the first time following the turn of the new year.
Conference action begins when PSU opens its 2025-26 league ledger with a pair of matchups in the Big Ten’s December window. Action begins on Tuesday, December 9, as the Blue & White travel to Bloomington, Indiana, for a test against the Indiana Hoosiers. The Nittany Lions return to University Park later in the week to host the Michigan State Spartans on Saturday, December 13.
Following a brief hiatus for the holiday season and the conclusion of non-conference competition, PSU returns to B1G play with a trip to the City of Brotherly Love on Saturday, January 3, as the Nittany Lions return to the historic Palestra for a matchup against the Illinois Fighting Illini. Penn State has hosted five Big Ten games inside the "Cathedral of College Basketball", defeating Michigan State in 2017, Iowa in 2020, and Michigan in 2024. Penn State has played 63 total games in The Palestra dating back to 1927.
Further information and tickets for the matchup between Penn State and Illinois at The Palestra will follow at a later date. All 2025-26 men's basketball season ticket holders and Nittany Lion Club members will have priority to secure tickets for the game in Philadelphia.
Penn State returns to Happy Valley on Tuesday, January 6, welcoming the Michigan Wolverines to the BJC before setting out on the first road trip of the new year on Saturday, January 10, taking on Purdue in West Lafayette, Indiana. The Nittany Lions welcome UCLA to the Bryce Jordan Center for the first time ever on Wednesday, January 14, and hit the road once more to face off against the Maryland Terrapins from College Park on Sunday, January 18. PSU’s final home game in the month of January comes against Wisconsin on Thursday, January 22, just before the Blue & White set out on a two-game road trek against Ohio State on Monday, January 26 and Northwestern on Thursday, January 29.
The Nittany Lions kick off February by returning to home action against Minnesota on Sunday, February 1, just before traveling to the Crisler Center for the second game of the year against Michigan on Thursday, February 5. USC makes its first transcontinental trip to Central Pennsylvania on Sunday, February 8, before Penn State sets out on its first Pacific Northwest road trip in B1G competition. The Blue & White will face off against the Washington Huskies in Seattle on Wednesday, February 11, and head south to challenge the Oregon Ducks in Eugene on Saturday, February 14. PSU enters the final quarter of the 2025-26 campaign at home against Rutgers on Wednesday, February 18, travels to Nebraska on Saturday, February 21, returns to the Jordan Center for back-to-back home contests against Iowa on Saturday, February 28 and Ohio State on Wednesday, March 4, and concludes the regular season on the road in Piscataway, New Jersey, against Rutgers on Sunday, March 8.
The 2026 TIAA Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament tips off on Tuesday, March 10, and runs through Sunday, March 15, from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, home of the National Basketball Association’s Chicago Bulls. Information regarding tickets to the league’s postseason event, as well as other fan information related to the Big Ten Tournament, will be released at a later date.
