LEXINGTON, Ky. – Inclement weather forced the third and final round of the Cullan Brown Collegiate to be canceled on Tuesday with the Tournament being decided in 36 holes. Penn State finished tied for eighth in the 15-team field at 5-over, 573.

Junior Alex Creamean led the way with his third-straight top-20 finish in a tie for 12th at 2-under, 140 after firing off back-to-back rounds of 1-under, 70, on Monday.

Freshman Jackson Saroney and senior Andres Barraza both finished tied for 14th with matching scores or 1-under, 141. Saroney went 70-71 while Barraza had the low round of the week for the Nittany Lions during the opening round Monday with a 2-under, 69, followed by a 1-over, 72.

One of Penn State’s program standards is a top-25 finish earns you exemption into the following tournament, something adopted from the Korn Ferry Tour in a way to prepare the young athletes for the next step in their careers.

Creamean and Saroney continued their hot play with Barazza joining the group following his first top-25 finish of the year.

Freshman Nick Werner and junior Tim Peters rounded out the group at 10-over and 14-over, respectively.

Penn State takes the quick trip to Ohio next week to participate in the Moraine Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Miami (Ohio) on October 13-14.
