Jaxon Schoedel Named Big Ten Men’s XC Freshman of the Week

Schoedel wins the first weekly accolade of his career.

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State men’s cross country runner Jaxon Schoedel has been named the Big Ten Cross Country Freshman of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon.

The rookie helped push the Nittany Lions to a top 10 finish at the Paul Short Run this past weekend hosted by Lehigh. The rookie ran a 23:57.8 in his first collegiate 8K race, finishing 41st overall and third for the Nittany Lions.

Schoedel and the Nittany Lions are back in action next weekend on October 18 at the NCAA Pre-National Invitation hosted by Mizzou in Columbia, Mo.
