Swimming And Diving To Host Season Opener Against St. Bonaventure

The Nittany Lions will host the Bonnies at McCoy Natatorium at 3 p.m. on October 9

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State swimming and diving team is set to open the 2025-26 season at McCoy Natatorium, facing St. Bonaventure. Competition is set to begin at 3 p.m. on Thursday, October 9. Live results can be found on Meet Mobile.

The Nittany Lions will face the Bonnies after a successful Blue and White meet on September 26. Some promising performers on the women’s side included Catherine Meisner, and the men’s team saw strong efforts from leaders Tylor Kim and Mariano Lazzerini.

In their second season under head coach Hollie Bonewit-Cron, the Nittany Lions look to build off the momentum from the 2024-25 campaign, which saw significant growth across both squads.

Both teams have an experienced group of returners to lead the way. The men’s team will be anchored by seniors Cooper Morley and Lazzerini. Kim, a junior, will also return. On the women's side, the team will be led by seniors Meisner and Morgan Moore. They also boast returning sophomore Grace Brammer on the diving side.

In addition to returners, the women’s team welcomes newcomers Laurel Depolo, Cyrah Robinson and Julia Shafer, while the men’s team has six freshmen in Alex Wodehouse, Jack Olivier, Cameron Petit, Vincente Villanueva, Ian Combs and Liam Mulroy.

The Nittany Lions have dominated the series historically, holding a 30-0 all-time record against the Bonnies.

To watch the match, fans are encouraged to park at the East deck.

Up next, the Nittany Lions will host their senior day meet at McCoy Natatorium against Yale on October 18.
