ROSEMONT, Ill. – Penn State men’s soccer garnered a pair of postseason Big Ten honors the conference offices announced Thursday afternoon. Redshirt freshman Jonathan Evans was recognized on the All-Freshman team while redshirt senior Van Danielson was recognized as a Sportsmanship Honoree. The all-freshman honor marks the third consecutive year Penn State has had an honoree on the freshman team.
Evans concluded the season with two Big Ten weekly honors, once as a Freshman of the Week and most recently as the conferences Goalkeeper of the Week. Evans posted four clean sheets across the season. In the Big Ten campaign, Evans ranks second in the Big Ten in saves (42) and second in saves per game (4.2). His 49 saves in 2025 mark the most for a Nittany Lion goalkeeper since Kris Shakes had 64 in 2023.
Danielson’s 57 game career in Happy Valley concludes with 12 goals including two games winning scores. He also posted a pair of assists in his final season with the Blue and White.
