TARRAGONA, Spain – Men’s golf alumnus and 2019 graduate Charles Huntzinger recently completed the final stage of the DP World Tour qualifying school earlier this month finishing in a tie for 37th at 13-under par over six rounds of competition.
With his performance, Huntzinger earned full status on the Hotel Planner World Tour (the European equivalent of the Korn Ferry Tour) for the 2026 season beginning in January.
Huntzinger has also advanced through the first stage of PGA Tour qualifying school and he will compete at the second stage at The Landings GC in Savannah, Georgia from December 2-5 for an opportunity to continue towards a PGA Tour Card for 2026.
Huntzinger competed in eight events on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2025 making the cut in three of those tournaments.
As a Nittany Lion from 2015-19, Huntzinger registered 21 career top-10 finishes including 14 top-5 results and a pair of tournament victories. He finished as Penn State’s scoring leading with a 72.07 stroke average.
Huntzinger was selected to the NCAA All-Northeast Region team while earning All-Big Ten Conference honors three-straight years from 2016-2018 along with being named the Big Ten Conference Freshman of the Year in 2016.
