Penn State Student Athlete Postgame Quotes - Nebraska

Quotes from Penn State student-athletes Kaytron Allen and Zane Durant following Penn State's 37-10 win over Nebraska on November 22, 2025

Kaytron Allen | RB | Senior

Q: When did you think this could become a possibility to do this? We talked earlier this season, but when did it become real for you?

A: I’m still just trying to wrap my head around it and I’ve just been trying to take it one game at a time. Unfortunately, the season hasn’t gone as planned. If we could have been winning the whole season and not get the record, I’d rather do that than get my record, but I’m just glad I got an opportunity to do this. I’m just grateful for my team.

Q: Not only did you break records, but Nick tying records as well. You guys doing at this at the exact same time, how special is that?

A: It’s special because it went back to all the winter workouts and things like that. Pushing each other and feeding off each other. It just means a lot. He’s my brother, and we are just tight. We are always talking to each other and things like that. Off the field and on the field. He has helped me grow and I hope I have helped him grow on the field and outside the field. That’s my brother and that’s for sure.

Q: Can you talk about the job of your offensive line these last two weeks?

A: It means a lot. As much as I get the praise, they should get the praise, too. I wish their names could go on there, instead of just mine. Everyone’s names together. The tight-ends, the o-line, they just do a great job of coming in every week with the same mindset. Coach Traut [Phil Trautwein] and Coach [Ty] Howle do a great job. Coach [Stan] Drayton does a great job with us, so we are just going in and buying in. Coach Terry [Smith] leads us with toughness, and it just comes together.

Zane Durant | DT | Senior

Q: What do you feel like Terry has kind of done to build your guys’ trust?

A: Just emphasizing the things that we came in for, to have fun, play football. That’s what it comes down to. I mean, everything else, don’t overthink the situation. Just have fun, fly around, be physical, play Penn State football.

Q: Describe the emotions of your last game in Beaver Stadium?

A: It was a roller coaster trying to fight back the tears. You know, seeing my mom and my teammates for the last time in the stadium, there’s a lot of high emotion. But I think we ended off on a great note. We dominated this week, this assignment, everything that Coach instilled in us last week. We just showed out on Saturday, so I think it was a great outcome.

Q: Your 2022 recruiting class, to get this win tonight…I mean, you guys had such big expectations for yourselves when you came in this year. Obviously, it didn’t go how you wanted, so how big was it to get a win on senior night like this?

A: It’s amazing that we go out the right way. All the guys I came in with, grew up from little kids to boys to men. It’s really exciting to see. I’m grateful to have this experience with the guys I came in with.
