WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Penn State swim and dive teams competed against Army in day two of a dual meet on Friday. The men’s team earned a victory while the women fell at Crandall Pool in West Point.
The men defeated the Black Knights by a decisive score of 169-130. The effort was led by seniors Eduardo Cisternas, and Mariano Lazzerini, who claimed two event titles each. Junior Tylor Kim added to the win through his victories in the 50 and 100 free. The win marks the first road victory of the season for the Nittany Lions.
The women’s efforts were led by senior Morgan Moore, who placed first in the 1000 free and a close second in the 500 free, and senior Catherine Meisner, who claimed a victory in the 200 free and a hard-fought second-place finish in the 100 free.
Men
Top Swims:
The men swept the podium in the 500 Free, led by Cisternas’ 4:20.94 swim, followed by Rylan Anselm’s second-place time of 4:24.96. Jack Clancy trailed for third, posting a 4:26.67.
Cisternas captured a victory in the 1000 Free with a pace of 9:08.48. Mariano Lazzerini also added a win in the 100 Breast, swimming a 51.52.
Tylor Kim won the 50 Free, boasting a 20.09 time. He continued his dominance with another victory in the 100 Free, swimming a 43.31.
Lazzerini added another win in the 200 breast, swimming a 1:53.94. Vicente Villanueva followed with a 1:55.99, good for second.
Matthew Bittner won the 100 Fly, swimming a 46.70. Newcomer Vincente Villanueva followed with a first-place finish in the 200 IM, swimming a fantastic 1:48.33.
Relays:
The men’s team claimed victories in both the 200 medley relay and the 400 free relay. The 200 medley relay was composed of Matthew Bittner, Mariano Lazzerini, Cooper Morley and Tylor Kim. The team earned a time of 1:24.37.
The 400 free relay team was made up by Rylan Anselm, Mariano Lazzerini, Matthew Bittner and Tylor Kim. Combined, they swam a winning time of 2:53.18.

Catherine Meisner and Katie Ketter battled to the end in the 100 Free, with Meisner swimming a 50.04, good for first, and Ketter posting a 50.47, good for second.
Julia Barto earned a win In the 200 IM with a 2:01.96 showing.
