Each won their lone event in the squad’s opening weekend of action.

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State track and field athletes, Collin Burkhart and Tayissa Buchanan were each named for weekly Big Ten awards, as announced by the conference on Wednesday afternoon.

Collin Burkhart was named the Big Ten’s Men’s Field Athlete of the Week for his efforts at the Bucknell Opener, winning his first career Big Ten weekly award. Tayissa Buchanan also won her first career Big Ten women’s Track Athlete of the Week award for her win at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener.
