Nittany Lions set to host 22 games at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State baseball has announced its 2026 schedule. The Nittany Lions are set to host 22 games at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. The schedule includes 39 contests against power conference opponents and non-conference trips to Arizona, Richmond, the Bahamas, Lubbock and Hagerstown.

 

Penn State opens the 2026 campaign in Arizona at the MLB Desert Invitational on Feb. 13-15. The Nittany Lions will take on Air Force on Friday, Grand Canyon on Saturday and Kansas State on Sunday. Air Force won 31 games in 2025, while Grand Canyon picked up 20 wins. Kansas State earned 32 wins and played in the NCAA Regional in Austin.

 

The Nittany Lions travel to Richmond for a four-game series on Feb. 20-22. PSU and Richmond will play one game on Friday, two on Saturday and one on Sunday. Penn State picked up a 17-6 win at Richmond in 2025.

 

The blue and white heads to the Bahamas on Feb. 27-March 1 for a three-game series against Indiana State. The Sycamores won 24 games last season.

Penn State opens its home slate on March 3-4, hosting St. John’s. The Red Storm tallied 29 victories in 2025.

 

The Nittany Lions travel to Texas Tech on March 6-8 to open Spring Break. Texas Tech collected 13 wins in Big 12 play last year.

 

Penn State is set to take on Georgetown in a two-game series on March 10-11 in Tysons, Va. before returning home for its Big Ten-opening series against Iowa on March 13-15. The Nittany Lions split a two-game series against Georgetown last season. The Hawkeyes finished third in the Big Ten standings in 2025 with a 21-9 conference mark.

 

The Nittany Lions play their first of three games against West Virginia, in Morgantown, on March 17. The Nittany Lions will also battle the Mountaineers on April 15 at Meritus Park in Hagerstown and April 29 at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.

 

Penn State hosts St. Bonaventure on March 24 before welcoming Illinois on March 27-29. PSU earned a midweek win over St. Bonaventure in 2025.

 

The Nittany Lions continue their homestand on April 1 against UCF. The Knights won 29 games in 2025.

 

The blue and white resumes Big Ten play on April 3-5 at Nebraska. The Nittany Lions met the Cornhuskers in the Big Ten Tournament semifinals last season.

 

After hosting FDU on April 7, Penn State travels to Ohio State on April 10-12. Penn State last met Ohio State in 2023, sweeping the Buckeyes at home.

 

Penn State hosts Rutgers on April 17-19 and Bucknell on April 21. The blue and white won the series in Piscataway in 2025.

 

The Nittany Lions visit Oregon on April 24-26 as the teams meet for the first time in program history.

 

Penn State hosts Minnesota on May 1-3 and finishes its home slate against Washington on May 8-10. Last season, the Nittany Lions swept the Golden Gophers and knocked off Washington in the Big Ten Tournament.

 

The Nittany Lions finish the regular season at Pitt on May 12 and at Maryland on May 14-16.

 

The Big Ten Tournament will be held at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha from May 18-24.

 

Penn State, led by head coach Mike Gambino, finished the 2025 season with a 33-23 record, posting its second-most wins in a season. PSU reached the 30-win mark for the first time since 2011.

 

The Nittany Lions made another strong run in the Big Ten Tournament, reaching the semifinals in back-to-back years for the first time since 2000-01.

 

In the Big Ten Tournament, PSU knocked off No. 5 seed Washington and No. 4 seed USC.

 

In Big Ten play, PSU won five Big Ten series in a season for the first time since 2012 and won three Big Ten road series for the first time since 2012. Its 15 Big Ten wins were its most since 2012 (not counting a Big Ten-only schedule in 2021).

 

Penn State had a .500 or better record in Big Ten games in back-to-back seasons for the sixth time in program history.

 

The Nittany Lions’ eight Big Ten road wins this season were its most since 2007 (9).
