KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Penn State women’s soccer program saw a trio of student-athletes selected to the United Soccer Coaches All-North Region Teams following an announcement from that organization on Tuesday.
Penn State saw graduate forward Kaitlyn MacBean secure Second Team All-Region accolades, sophomore defender Bella Ayscue land Third Team All-Region laurels and senior forward Amelia White garner Fourth Team All-Region honors. MacBean landed the second All-Region honor of her collegiate career, while both Ayscue and White garnered the first regional postseason awards in their respective careers. PSU has placed at least three student-athletes on a United Soccer Coaches All-Region team in every year since 2010.
MacBean, a native of Excelsior, Minnesota, recorded yet another dominant season of work in the Blue & White over the course of her final collegiate campaign in Happy Valley, leading the Nittany Lions in goals scored with 10 on the year. The veteran attacker notched her third-straight season with double digits in the goal column and finished atop the Big Ten Conference in terms of goals scored in conference matches with seven. She ranked third in the B1G overall with her 10 goals on the year and placed fourth in the league in terms of goals per match with 0.48. MacBean secured her second United Soccer Coaches All-North Region accolade in her career, in addition to her second-consecutive appearance following a First Team nod in 2024, becoming Penn State’s fourth Second Team All-North Region choice all-time.
Hailing from Apex, North Carolina, Ayscue made a name for herself over the course of the 2025 season as a dominant two-way threat from the back line. The second-year center back started and appeared in all 21 matches and finished second on the roster in terms of minutes played by field position players with 1,819. She published a five-point season this year with a pair of goals and one assist, with her two scores ranking as a single-season career high through this point in her young career. Ayscue contributed 17 performances playing the full 90 minutes, being subbed off on just four occasions throughout the year. Ayscue landed the first United Soccer Coaches All-North Region accolade of her collegiate career and became PSU’s fifth Third Team selection all-time.
White, a native of Fort Wayne, Indiana, mustered the most prolific season of her decorated collegiate career in 2025, doubling her single-season career-high scoring mark from 2022 to publish a 16-point campaign this year. White logged six goals, more than her prior three seasons combined, in addition to booking four assists in the process. White finished third on the Penn State roster behind MacBean and sophomore forward Aubrey Kulpa in terms of total scoring but led the Blue & White in match-winning goals with three. White’s trio of match-winning scores finished as the eighth-most among all Big Ten Conference student-athletes, highlighted by a pair of match winners in B1G regular-season action. White landed her first collegiate United Soccer Coaches All-North Region award and became PSU’s first-ever Fourth Team All-North Region designee.
Headlined by its trio of United Soccer Coaches All-Region honorees, Penn State published a solid 2025 season that included the program’s 32nd-consecutive 10-win campaign. The Nittany Lions recorded a 10-8-3 overall record this season and extended their streak of NCAA Tournament appearances to 31 consecutive, marking the second-longest active tournament appearance streak in Division I women’s soccer. MacBean, Ayscue and White helped propel PSU to an opening-round win in the tournament for the 17th year in a row, downing the Army Black Knights in a 3-0 matchup from Jeffrey Field on November 15.
