BOSTON – Senior Forward Tessa Janecke was named Atlantic Hockey America’s Forward of the Week as announced by the league on Tuesday afternoon. Janecke has now won three AHA Forward of the Week awards this season and 11 times in her career.
Although the Nittany Lions split the weekend, Janecke led all scorers with four points over the two games at Mercyhurst. In game one, she dished two assists, including one on Nicole Hall’s eventual game-winning goal. In game two, Janecke scored one goal and one assist. Over the course of the weekend she also won 25 of her 40 faceoffs.
Janecke and the Nittany Lions are back in action this weekend, traveling to face Syracuse on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. Friday’s puck drop is slated for 6 p.m. while Saturday’s game will start at 3 p.m. with both games being streamed on FloHockey.
