BOSTON – Senior goaltender Katie DeSa has been named to the HCA Goaltender of the Year Watchlist as announced Wednesday afternoon. This is the second straight season DeSa has been named to the Watchlist.
DeSa has had a stellar start to the season posting a record of 16-2-0 with seven shutouts which leads the nation. She currently sits second nationally and first in the AHA in goals against average at 1.36. Her .889 win percentage is also second nationally among goaltenders while leading the conference.
This season she’s been named Atlantic Hockey America’s (AHA) Goaltender of the Week three times, garnering a total of 12 in her Nittany Lion career. She also was named the league’s Goaltender of the Month for September/October and November.
DeSa and the Nittany Lions are back in action this weekend, traveling to face Syracuse on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. Friday’s puck drop is slated for 6 p.m. while Saturday’s game will start at 3 p.m. with both games being streamed on FloHockey.
