Butze & Keller Tabbed for Weekly AHA Awards

The two combined for eight points in the team’s sweep over Delaware.

BOSTON – Atlantic Hockey America named Penn State women’s ice hockey skaters Kendall Butze and Mikah Keller for weekly awards, as announced by the league on Tuesday afternoon.

Kendall Butze was named the AHA’s Defenseman of the Week after leading all Penn State skaters in points with five on two goals and three assists. The senior was also second among all skaters in one ice rating at +5. Over the weekend, she tied the program record for career points by a defenseman at 84 while also moving into second in career assists with 70. She is now fourth in the AHA in assists while also being second behind her teammate Danica Maynard in on ice rating at +33.

Mikah Keller earned her first career conference award after her play this weekend, being named the AHA’s Freshman of the Week. She posted one goal and added two assists on the weekend. She now sits fourth on the team in points with 25 and first among all freshman skaters. Her 18 assists are third on PSU and fifth in the AHA conference.

Butze, Keller, and the Nittany Lions are back in action this weekend hosting Robert Morris for a two-game series during Penn State’s Winter Sports Weekend. Friday’s game will be at West Shore Home Field at Beaver Stadium presented by GIANT. That game will puck drop at 1 p.m.
