Men's Golf Concludes Play at Gators Invitational

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Penn State men’s golf team concluded its opening tournament of the Spring season, the Gators Invitational, on Sunday afternoon finishing the week 15th in the 18-team field at the Mark Bostick Golf Course.

The Nittany Lions completed the week at 36-over, 876, while the host Gators captured the title at 27-under, 813. Auburn (13-under), Oklahoma State (2-under), USF (4-over) and Charlotte (12-over) rounded out the top-5 for the week.

Alex Creamean paced the Nittany Lions finishing the week tied for 21st in the 99-player field at 2-over, 212. Creamean opened the weekend strong with a 1-under, 69, in the first round and ended with an even-par, 70, with a 73 in between to account for his final score.

Andres Barraza carded the low round for the week for Penn State with a 2-under, 68, during the second round for his lone round under par for the weekend finishing in a tie for 48th at 7-over, 217.

Jackson Saroney finished 11-over, 221, and in a tie for 69th while Will Preston and Zach Smith rounded out the team scoring at 18-over and 22-over, respectively.

The Nittany Lions have the next few weeks off before returning to action at the Johnnie-O at Sea Island hosted by Rutgers in Georgia on March 9-10.
