Harvey Named EIVA Offensive Player of the Week for Second Time

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Sean Harvey was named the EIVA Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season after leading No. 16 Penn State to a pair of conference wins over Princeton over the weekend.

Harvey hit .333 with 4.25 kills, 1.38 digs, and 0.75 blocks per set over Penn State’s two wins. He opened the road trip with a career-high 22 kills on .325 hitting in addition to eight digs, four blocks, and one ace in a five-set victory on Friday. He followed that by hitting .348 with 12 kills, two blocks, three digs, and one ace.

Harvey is hitting .305 with 3.52 kills for the season. He has reached double-digit kills in 10 of the team’s 12 matches, totaling nine kills in each of the two matches he didn’t post double digits.

Penn State has earned four EIVA weekly awards this season. In addition to the two offensive honors won by Harvey, redshirt senior libero Ryan Merk was twice named the Defensive Player of the Week.

Penn State continues EIVA play when it hosts Harvard for a pair of matches Friday and Saturday.
